 In class today we looked over the poem Harlem by Langston Hughes. We discussed what happens when our dreams defer. Our assignment was to write down our dreams which for me is to help animals. I liked this lesson because it helps us try to plan out our future and it lets us see and know what we have to do to get there. Today I’m happy and exhausted at the same time. 

 Today in class we discussed about what it means to be American and what America stands for. To me to be American means to be free and equal. We also read “Let America Be America Again” by Langston Hughes. We talked about how America still hasn’t been great because not everyone has an opportunity. My day right now is going good, I’m excited to go to work today because I recently got a promotion and I have been overall happy. 

 Today in class we discussed the importance of being respectful and disrespectful to other cultures. For instance we talked about how being respectful to another’s culture is important and we even gave examples. Another topic was we talked about was Condoleezza Rice and her accomplishments like being the first African American Secretary of State. My over all feeling today is pretty good, I’m happy and energetic today. 

 Today in class we did presentations. We also answered some questions about black history month and how it’s important. Black history month is important because it shows us the achievements that many African Americans accomplished. For instance Denzel Washington and the best actor Oscar. Today I’m feeling confident and happy I don’t know why but it’s a good feeling.

 Today in first period we took a mid book quiz. We also worked on our mini project. Today I feel tired but I’m excited for the weekend.
